Step 1 of 4
Add Your Website to Google Search Console
⏱ 10–15 min Beginner
  • 1
  • 2
Sign in using your Google account that manages your website
  • 3
Click the property selector in the top-left corner of the dashboard
  • 4
Click "Add Property" — you will then see two verification options below
🔗 Option B: URL Prefix
Covers only the exact URL prefix entered. Useful when you want to separate subdomains or protocols.
  • Enter the full URL including https://
  • Choose a verification method
  • HTML file — upload to root of your site
  • Meta tag — add to <head> of your homepage
  • Google Analytics or Tag Manager (if already installed)
  • Complete verification and click Verify
Example: https://www.lodilimo.com/
💡
For Multiple Websites Repeat the entire process above for each website you want to add to GSC. Each domain needs its own property.
⚠️
DNS Propagation Takes Time After adding the TXT record, DNS changes may take up to 48 hours to propagate globally. If verification fails immediately, wait a few hours and try again.

Step 2 of 4
Submit Your Sitemap (sitemap.xml)
⏱ 5 min Beginner
🗺️
Why Submit a Sitemap? A sitemap is a file that lists all your important web pages so Google can discover and crawl them efficiently — even pages that are hard to find through normal link crawling.
  • 1
Once your property is verified, select the website in your GSC dashboard
  • 2
From the left-hand menu, click on "Sitemaps"
  • 3
Under "Add a new sitemap", type in the sitemap filename:
    sitemap.xml
Some WordPress or custom sites may use sitemap_index.xml — check your site's root directory to confirm.
  • 4
    Click Submit
🔍
How to Verify It Worked After submission, the status should show as Success or Pending. If you see an error, double-check the sitemap URL is accessible by visiting https://yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml in your browser.
📋
Sitemap Submission Is a One-Time Task You only need to submit the sitemap once. Google will revisit it automatically. Re-submit only if your site undergoes major structural changes.
3
Step 3 of 4
Request Manual Indexing of Key Pages
⏱ 15–30 min Intermediate
  • 1
At the very top of the GSC dashboard, locate the URL Inspection Bar
  • 2
Enter the full URL of the page you want Google to index:
    https://yourdomain.com/service-page
  • 3
Press Enter and wait for GSC to fetch the result (this may take 10–30 seconds)
  • 4
If the page shows as "Not indexed" or "URL is not on Google", click "Request Indexing"
  • 5
Google will test the live URL and add it to the indexing queue

  • 🚘 Airport Transfer Service Page
  • 🎉 Events & Weddings Service Page
  • 📍 Location / Service Area Pages

Don't Overdo It Google limits manual indexing requests. Avoid submitting too many pages at once — prioritize your most important pages first and work through the rest gradually.

Step 4 of 4
Important Notes & Best Practices
⏱ Reference
Indexing Time
Indexing is not instant. It may take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks depending on your site's crawl frequency and authority.
🗂️
Sitemap Submission
Submit your sitemap only once unless major structural changes occur. Google revisits it automatically.
🔢
Manual Indexing Limits
Google limits how many manual requests you can make. Prioritize important pages — homepage, service pages, and location pages first.
🤖
Robots.txt Check
Make sure key pages are not blocked by your robots.txt file. Blocked pages cannot be indexed regardless of requests.
🚫
No-Index Tags
Ensure pages don't carry a noindex meta tag in their HTML — this tells Google to ignore them completely.
Page Load Speed
Ensure your site loads quickly and reliably. Google's crawlers skip pages that are slow or return server errors (4xx/5xx).

📝 On-Page SEO Checklist Per Page

  • Each page has a unique, descriptive Title Tag (50–60 characters)
  • Each page has a compelling Meta Description (150–160 characters)
  • Pages contain relevant keywords and quality content
  • Pages have proper internal links connecting to other pages
  • Website is mobile-friendly and responsive
  • All pages use HTTPS (SSL certificate is active)
